Academy Award®-winner Sissy Spacek stars as Ginger, a young girl thumbing her way through the Southwest, with her guitar in one hand and a suitcase in the other, trying to live life to the fullest while making her way North to find an old love. On the road to Sante Fe, Ginger is picked up by Joe, who is returning to his hometown after a bitter divorce. The pair are instantly attracted to one another, but their passion is put to the test when Joe's ex-wife and long-lost friend both arrive unannounced.
